When it comes to hot sauce, we are big time consumers. As far as we are concerned, almost every culinary experience can be enhanced with a little heat. Yet, while there are many hot sauce brands in the market, there is a sizable void between sauces that are hot, though weak on flavor, and those that are flavorful, but don’t bring the heat.
In the summer of 2020, we set out to fill that void for our own palates, and started Burro Loco as a way to satisfy both our taste buds as well as our desire for heat. We visited grocers across Brooklyn’s diverse neighborhoods to gather ingredients - Jamaican Scotch Bonnets, Thai Red Chilis, Cactus Pears, and more - and got busy in the kitchen.
Burro Loco Hot Sauce Company launched in our kitchen in Brooklyn; our sauces are vegan, probiotic, and use only natural ingredients. They are hot, they are packed with flavor, they are healthy, and they are reflections of the diverse communities of New York City and the World.
Burro Loco was founded by Ethan Bentch and Evan Bentch while attending high school in New York City. Today, the Burro Loco family spans the globe, delivering flavor and heat to global cuisines.
